I’m a little bit obsessed with Everlane. They’ve got an impressive inventory of on-trend basics with a passable range of sizes and a solid commitment to sustainability. I’ve only ordered a handful of items from them, one of which is the Wide Leg Patch Pocket Culottes. I’m a bit self-conscious about my tum, so the idea of a brazenly high-waisted pant felt a bit risky - but also invigorating. Why not embrace my curves and lean into my mom jeans?

I poured over their website for months before ordering, and was pleasantly surprised by their “see how these fit on other sizes” shopping tool. This allowed me to see how the pants fit on a size 10 - way closer to the size 14 that I ordered vs. the standard size 2 model. I felt fairly confident that I could get away with them if I put my mind to it, so into my shopping cart they went.

When they arrived they fit like a glove. Perfectly stretchy, yet substantial. Casual but polished. Worth every penny of the $68 investment. Paired with a bodysuit and a statement clog, I was pretty sure my ass had never looked better and that I could conquer the world. (Unfortunately, I just ended up going on a truly terrible date instead - don’t make the same mistake, ladies. The culottes deserve better. You deserve better. Everyone deserves better.)

Pro Tip: Everlane isn’t the most expensive brand out there, but they’re not cheap either. When you’re perusing their website, be sure to check out the Choose What You Pay feature. It’s a game changer. The Choose What You Pay inventory is priced so that you can self-select your price point based on your budget. No sale gimmicks, just the honor system.

The Bottom Line: Everlane’s commitment to sustainability and transparency may be unparalleled. They only partner with ethical factories after rigorous audits, they source durable materials made to last, and they disclose the traditional retail mark-up of every single garment they sell, not to mention their production cost breakdown. Most garments come in a range from at least size 2-16 / XXS to XL, with some specific items offering more range. They make it easy to shop ethically and responsibly and I can’t wait to see more from them as they (fingers crossed) expand their production to be even more inclusive and transparent.
